“By The Scent Of Water It Will Bud And Bring Forth Boughs Like A Plant” ~ Prayer And Blessing For My Beloved

A small tree growing from a large, decayed tree stump surrounded by fallen leaves.
By the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.” (Job 14:8-9)

Nature teaches us so much about life. It’s amazing that the average healthy adult can generally survive two to three months without food as long as they have access to adequate water. However, without both food and water, survival drops drastically to just about one week.

“As in the natural, so in the spirit realm.” This is the hope for humanity. If man can go without water for a limited time and still live or bud in the physical realm, accordingly, in the spiritual realm, man can still bud if he puts forth his hand like Job, repents, and embraces God.

Job understood this principle in his darkest moment after the loss of his family and fortune. He stretched forth his hand;  he reached for that scent of water, i.e., the Holy Spirit, and God gave him double for his troubles. “Though the root of it wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof be dead in the ground, Yet by the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.” (Job 14:8-9)

Boughs are the main branches of a tree. Spiritually, from Job’s deadness there arose a main branch, Jesus, from the stump of Jesse, to stand in the breach for Adam’s original sin. God is awesome, and his plans for mankind are mysterious, beyond our understanding of how, from deadness, he can bring forth life.

In 2026, many feel a malaise of darkness, deadness. Believers must know that from our travail, from the deadness around us, will emerge new life, new branches. God alone has the power of life and death. He controls the seasons and tells us that seed time and harvest will continue to prevail until his return for a “mature bride”. We as believers must be Good Samaritans, follow and obey his word, and mature in the faith by loving him first and our neighbors as ourselves.

Enjoy your day, use it wisely and know that the best is yet to come! ❤️ always and forever.
