“The Spirit of The Lord Shall Chase Him Away” ~Prayer and Blessing for My Beloved

@ericjamesolson

I returned home to the housing projects on a wintry night after studying with a fellow grad student. As I drove up to my sister’s first story apartment, I saw a man in a white t-shirt and black pants standing on the third floor outside his unit. I knew the units were hot as hell because of the housing authority’s nonstop blasting of heat. Maybe he’s taking a break from the heat I thought. I watched until I thought he was gone. Then with books in tow, I took my chance and ran across the icy ground to my sister’s apartment. As I attempted to open her three door locks, I saw the flash of this man’s t-shirt racing across the neighbor’s windows towards me. I let out a loud, guttural, piercing, “Jesus.” Simultaneously, the white flash of his t-shirt disappeared and my sister stood butt-naked at the door and let me in.

I pray that mankind would understand how to use the armour of God’s word to speak truth to power, to tread on serpents, and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, knowing that nothing shall hurt them. “So shall they fear the Name of the Lord from the West, and his glory from the rising of the Sun; for the enemy shall come like a flood; but the Spirit of the Lord shall chase him away.” (Isaiah 59:19)

Enjoy your day, use it wisely and know that the best is yet to come! ❤️ always and forever.
